James R. Brothers, 60 of Hembold Drive, Guilderland passed away on Friday, January 29, at his home after a short illness. Born in Brooklyn, NY on July 18, 1949, he was the son of the late Judson and Helen Fuscaldo Brothers.
Jim enlisted in the US Navy during the Vietnam War and proudly served his country on the USS Independence. After his service he moved to the area, living here for the past 35 years.
Jim was employed as a photographer for the New York State Dept. of Commerce and worked on the I Love New York campaign. Jim had a special passion for photography and in later years marveled at digital technology.
Jim also shared a love of Great Danes and rescued four of them, his latest being Penny. This passion for these animals was how he met his companion of the past 18 years, Ms. Carmen A. Suliveres. He is also survived by several cousins.
A celebration of Jim's life is planned for the spring, interment will be private.
Those who wish may make contributions in his memory to Hospice of Schenectady, 1411 Union St. Schenectady, NY 12308.
