Obituary of Constance Mary Duhamel

COLONIE –

With hearts full of love, we announce that Connie (Constance) Mary Duhamel chose to trust God to carry her to Heaven on February 10, 2025, at the age of 80. She passed peacefully at her home in Colonie surrounded by her family with grace, dignity, and joy.

Born on November 26, 1944, in Staten Island, New York, Connie dedicated her life to faith, family, and service. In 1960, she met the love of her life, Joey Peter Duhamel, as schoolchildren. Their bond was immediate, and together they built a strong, loving family.

They raised their six beloved children—Deidre, Daryl, Dorothy, Joseph, Dianna, and Dagny—in the beauty of the Catskills before moving to Albany. Connie worked as a detox nurse at St. Peter’s Hospital, where she devoted herself to caring for others with empathy, helping many find strength and hope in their healing journeys.

After her retirement, Connie dedicated herself to giving back to the community. She volunteered her time at the food pantry at the Cathedral of Immaculate Conception, St. Christopher's Inn, and the St. Vincent de Paul Society, always eager to help those in need.

She embraced the joys of family life, cherishing time spent with her devoted husband, Joey, and her ever-growing family. Over the years, she was blessed with 14 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren, each of whom she cherished deeply, always offering her wisdom and love with open arms.

A woman of profound faith, Connie attended mass daily, always prioritizing her time with God and loved ones. Her faith, along with her steadfast kindness and deep care for others, made her a guiding presence to all who knew her. She was an avid reader, a fierce Words with Friends competitor, and a loving influence in the lives of everyone she encountered. Known for her honesty, she never sugarcoated the truth but offered her wisdom with care, sincerity, and love.

Connie was a listening ear, a source of comfort, and a steady hand of support in the lives of her family, friends, and all who sought her counsel. She was deeply devoted to her family, and Joey, her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren were her greatest
treasures.
