Obituary of Eveline M. Whitney
WILLIAMSVILLE, N.Y. –
Eveline M. Whitney, 87, of the Elderwood at Williamsville, formerly a lifelong resident of the Troy area and Rensselaer County, entered eternal life on Friday, February 7, 2025.
Eveline was born in the small town of Redford in the town of Saranac in Clinton County, New York. She lived most of her adult life in the Troy area, including West Sand Lake and Green Island.
Mrs. Whitney was formerly employed as a Seamstress for the former Cluett and Peabody Company, and later was a nurse’s aide and caregiver at the former St. Mary’s Hospital, Troy, NY and also Van Rensselaer Manor in North Greenbush.
Mrs. Whitney was of the Catholic Faith and was a communicant of the former St. Patrick’s Church in Troy and later St. Anthony of Padua Shrine Church in Downtown Troy. In her private spare time, Eveline enjoyed playing cards, and was an avid Bingo Player on the regular.
Survivors include, one brother, Robert Carter, her sons: Fred (Karen), John (Beverly), Paul (Margaret) and her daughter Cheryl (Bob). Surviving Grandchildren: Heather, Emme, Devon, Sarah, Paul Jr. and Daphne. Also survived by several great grandchildren as well as nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, Edmund Carter and Margaret (Collins) Carter, Eveline was predeceased in death and now joins in the Kingdom of Heaven, her husband Fred Whitney, Jr., her son William, her daughter Tina, and three brothers: Joe, Luke and Oswald.
Relatives and Friends are invited to pay their respects and visit with the Whitney Family from 4-7PM on Friday, February 14, 2025 in the Chapel of the Riverview Funeral Home, 218 2nd Avenue, Troy, NY 12180.
A Funeral Mass of Christian Burial will take place on Saturday, February 15, 2025 at 9:30AM in St. Anthony of Padua Shrine Church, 28 State Street, Troy, NY 12180.
A Private Cremation will Follow and Interment will take place in the Spring of 2025 within Oakwood Cemetery, Troy.
