Obituary of Doris R. Pisaniello
LOWVILLE -
Doris Ethel Ridington Pisaniello, 97 years old, of Hummingbird Lane in Lowville, NY, passed away on March 15, 2025.
She was the widow of the late Patrick Pisaniello, the daughter of the late William and Wilhelmina Ridington, and the mother of William and Daniel Pisaniello.
Doris was born in Ogden, PA on November 11, 1927. She moved to Troy, NY when she was in second grade, and met her future husband in 6th grade. They graduated together from both grade school and high school.
Doris went to college at SUNY Oneonta and taught elementary school in Troy, NY, State College, PA, and St. Colman's Home for Boys and Girls in Watervliet, NY during her long career.
In 1951, she married Patrick Pisaniello. They were married 63 years before he predeceased her. They lived most of their married life in Latham, NY. After retirement, they wintered in St. Petersburg, FL. In their later years they resided at Brookside Senior Living Community in Lowville, NY.
Doris had two children - William (Suzanne) Pisaniello of Big Canoe, GA, and Dr. Daniel (Dr. M. Lynn) Pisaniello of Lowville, NY. She had six grandchildren - Robert (Katherine) Pisaniello (Ashburn, VA), Mark (Jessica) Pisaniello (Gainesville, GA), Elizabeth (Robin) Munn (Chiang Mai, Thailand), Mary (Timothy) Gao (Parma, OH), Sarah (David) Markallo (College Park, MD), and Christine (Andrew) Fink (Milwaukee, WI). She also has seven great-grandchildren - Elizabeth, Ruth, and Thomas Gao (Parma, OH), and Daniel, Luke, Lydia, and Mary Munn (Chiang Mai, Thailand).
She was predeceased by her parents and sister Phyllis (Peter) Gammiero (Penfield, NY), as well as many nephews and nieces.
Calling hours will be held at Riverview Funeral Home at 218 2nd Avenue (corner of 104th Street) in Troy, NY 12180 on Sunday, March 23, 2025 from 2:00 to 5:00 PM.
A Funeral Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 12 o'clock noon on Monday, March 24, 2025 at Our Lady of Victory Church, 55 North Lake Avenue in Troy, NY 12180.
The Rite of Committal will follow in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Troy, where she will be buried next to her beloved husband.
In lieu of flowers, a donation in Doris's name may be made to St. Colman's Home, 11 Haswell Road, Watervliet, NY 12189.
