Obituary of Francis G. Flynn, Jr.

ALBANY –

Mr. Francis G. Flynn, Jr., known as Frank by family and friends, age 81, of Albany, NY, entered into eternal rest on Wednesday, April 23, 2025 following a short and unexpected illness. His loving family was by his side.

He was born on July 9, 1943 in Troy, New York, to the late Francis G. Flynn and Cathryn (Glatz) Flynn. Frank was raised in Troy and received his education from Hudson Valley Community College (HVCC). He was employed by the State of New York as an Unemployment Insurance Accounts Examiner for 33 years. Frank resided in Albany the last 20 years of his life.

Frank is warmly remembered by his daughter, Nicole (Don) White, as a generous, kind man, who was strong, spiritual, described as the best father and a great friend to all, not to mention an animal lover (especially cats). His earthly presence will be sorely missed.

In addition to his parents, Frank was predeceased by his sister Kathy Sosa.

Relatives and Friends are invited to a Committal Ceremony on Tuesday, April 29, 2025 in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Troy, where prayers will be offered at graveside beginning at 12 o’clock noon. All are welcome to share memories of Frank. Please enter the cemetery through the Tibbits Avenue Entrance.
