Obituary of John E. Delap
John E. Delap
John Edward Delap, 37 of Watervliet died on Saturday, April 14, 2018 at Samaritan Hospital after a sudden illness. Born in Troy, NY on May 12, 1980, Johnny was the son of Jack and Cindy Forner Delap of Johnsonville, NY. He was employed for 10 years as a Courier with Fed Ex and was a highly respected member of the Fed Ex Family.
John was the husband of Melissa Julien Delap and father of their two daughters:
Giavanna & Gabriella, who were the absolute love of his life! He was older brother to: Mike (Amanda) of Watervliet, Nate (Samantha) of Mesa, AZ, Tim (Kristine) of Defreestville, NY and Sarah (Pete Lindner) of Voorheesville, NY. He was grandson to the late: Ed and Marie Forner and the late John E. Delap. Survived by his Nana, Ann Delap. He is also survived by many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews and friends too numerous to count. Johnny was loved by all who knew him along with his canine companions Loki and Haze.
Johnny was a joy from the time he was born and it was an honor for us to call him son, even though he was here for such a short time. We truly believe in our hearts that he has served his purpose here and is now at home; at rest with his Heavenly Father.
The entire Delap family would like to thank everyone for their love, prayers and support throughout this difficult time.
A Memorial service will be held on Saturday, April 21st at 5 PM from the Chapel of the Riverview Funeral Home, 218 2nd Avenue, (corner of 104th St.) Lansingburgh, NY. Relatives and friends are invited to attend and may also call at the Riverview Funeral Home on Saturday from 2 to 5PM prior to the service.
In lieu of flowers the family would appreciate donations to the “Go Fund Me” page which has been established in support his daughters; Giavanna and Gabriella. https://www.gofundme.com/john-delaps-girls
