Obituary of Joseph E. Hernberg

Cropseyville, NY

Joseph E. “Buddy” Hernberg, 67, died on Sunday, January 27, 2019, at his home surrounded by his loving family.  Born in Troy, NY, Joseph was the son of the late, Joseph Edward and Marion Luby Hernberg. Joe had lived in Troy before moving to Waterford and finally to Cropseyville.

Joe attended Troy High before serving in the US Navy where he was a Seabee.

He was self-employed and owner manager of B & P Roofing for over 30 years.

Bud found many pleasures in life including fishing, the Casino, NASCAR and was an IMCA racecar driver.  When Pat came into his life they enjoyed attending comedic plays and other various activities. Buds favorite thing was being part of his grandchildren’s various activities and everyday lives, including concerts and sporting events.  Bud was proud of the knowledge that he was able to pass on to his family and friends.  He was a kind soul and was always there when he was needed.

Bud is survived by his beloved fiancée, Pat Brennan; his two daughters: Christine M. Guenette and Elizabeth (Patrick) Gibbs both of Waterford, NY, his former wife Kathy Bayly of Troy; his three grandchildren: Marcel, Hannah and Victoria; his siblings: Diane (Danny) Cavanaugh, Judith (Paul) Kimball, Kurt Hernberg, Marion (Melissa) Hernberg, Peggy (Tony) Markou and the late Debbie Sherman.

Funeral Thursday morning at 10 o’clock from St. Joseph’s Church, Third and Jackson

Streets, Troy, where the Liturgy of Christian Burial will be celebrated.  Relatives and friends are invited to attend and may also call at the Riverview Funeral Home, 218 2^ndAvenue (corner of 104^thSt.), Lansingburgh on Wednesday from 5 to 8 PM.

Interment will follow with full military honors in the Gerald B.H. Solomon Saratoga National Cemetery, 200 Duell Road, Schuylerville, NY  12871, at 12 Noon.
