I had the great pleasure of working with Rita Lee at the NYS Education Department. Rita Lee was smart and always willing to share her knowledge. We enjoyed many noon time walks together, even when the weather was bitterly cold! She was candid, witty, and kind. I am so glad to have known this wonderful person.
I am so sorry to her of your loss. I first met Lee when she lived on Third Ave around the corner from her sister Kathy. I was hanging out with Cookie at the time. I always thought she was a very strong woman who was able to take care of her family and much more. I am sure you will all miss her much. I hope you remember all the good memories, keeping them in your heart until you all meet again.

Rita Lee was awesome. She baby sat my 3 girls when they were babies and loved and treated them like they were her own. She was like a sister to me. Never to be forgotten. R.I.P Rita.
