I met Rocky in 1971 at Oneida Hall, Oswego (SUNY SUCO). Yes, many years ago. At first, I wasn't sure what to think about this tall, extremely thin guy who seemed to find most things in life amusing, but also a little bit of a "Don't mess with me!!!" aura all around him. Believe me, I was intrigued as I always love an adventure, but also cautious. As time went by and I could observe him in action, I grew to like the good person he was and eventually love the man. Gary always had a helping hand to lend to any underdog whom he believed needed help without any expectations of reciprocation ever. He truly took joy in helping folks. I learned lots about cars (muscle cars of the late 60's and early 70's, owning a few with guidance from Gary), going to car races, and spending time in the body shop. He was a GREAT painter; many a gorgeous car had his excellent eye for color and painting skill.
Gary loved his friends and family. Gary loved life and was open to new experiences and fun. Gary was very good at poking fun with his dry humor and abundant intelligence. I was fortunate to have spent time with him and his family, Cliff and Betty and Scotty and the Lansingburg friends. Gary was a wonderful and dear friend and was I blessed to be able to call him friend. He will always fill my memories with laughs and sweetness.
