Obituary of Joanne D. Davignon

TROY –

Joanne D. Davignon, 70, of Troy, entered into rest on February 18, 2024 following a long illness.

The daughter of the late Joseph and Marion (McDonald) Higgins, Joanne was born in Troy on November 18, 1953. She was a lifelong resident of Troy and was a graduate of Troy High School (class of 1971).

Mrs. Davignon retired from Cornell Cooperative Extension after 34 years of employment with the firm as a nutritionist. Her family will remember her warmly as a giving, caring, generous, selfless individual who put her family and loved ones first, and for her faith as a devout Catholic.

She is survived by her husband of 47 years, Mr. Neil T. Davignon, whom she married on August 7, 1976 in the former St. Patrick’s Church in Troy. Joanne was the mother of Gregory Davignon and Dana (Joseph) Crispell.  She was the grandmother of Paris Davignon, Aidan Davignon and Brandan Crispell. Joanne was the sister of Dianne (William, Sr.) Cavanaugh and Joseph Higgins, Jr. She is also survived by one niece, Sarah, and two nephews: William, Jr. and Michael.

Relatives and Friends are invited to visit with Joanne’s family and may call from 10AM until 12PM on Monday, February 26, 2024 in the Chapel of the Riverview Funeral Home, 218 2nd Avenue (corner of 104th Street) Troy, NY 12180.  Her Funeral Service will commence at 12 Noon from the Riverview Funeral Home, with interment following in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Troy.
