Obituary of Frederick Paul "Paul" Keppel III

TROY - Frederick Paul Keppel III, 70, of Troy and formerly of Pearl River, entered into rest on July 10, 2022, in the comfort of his home surrounded by his loved ones. The son of the late Frederick Paul Keppel II and Patricia (Walters) Hand, Frederick, known as Paul by his family and friends, was born on June 9, 1952, in Warwick, New York. Paul grew up in the Mid-Hudson Valley and in Greene, NY, where along with his sister Bridget, he was raised with many close cousins, who were also like siblings to him. As a young man he lived in coastal California. Through his career he lived in NYC. Paul was an accomplished stagehand and carpenter. He spent many years working on the set of Saturday Night Live, as well as the Conan O'Brien Show, David Letterman, and also Universal Studios. He had many tales to tell about famous celebrities and performers he had the pleasure of meeting over the course of his career. Paul had an independent bohemian spirit- always had a backpack ready to go for a next adventure. He loved motorcycles, beautiful cars, and antique trucks, particularly his '56 Chevy. With reflection on his life, Paul, said he "had a lot of fun!" He lived his life to the fullest, had many loved ones and many adventures with tales to tell! He was an intellect who loved learning about the world and always stayed engaged with current events. He was a doting and loving Uncle to his nieces/nephews and grandnieces/nephews, who he loved to spoil with thoughtful toys. He will be deeply missed by his loved ones, including his nieces, Nicole & Crystal; nephew Jami; grandnephews, Jackson, Hudson, Darren, Jarod, Jacob, and Chance; and grandnieces Lilly and Belabie. Cremation took place through the care of Riverview Funeral Home, Inc. Services will be private at the convenience of the family. Paul will be laid to rest in the Walters family plot in Cortlandt, New York.
