Obituary of Angelo Luis Smith, Sr.

COHOES- Angelo Luis Smith, Sr., 52, of Cohoes, formerly of the Bronx, was called home after a long illness on July 11, 2021. He was born in New York City on July 15, 1968. Angelo was the son of Jose A. Jimenez and the late Anne Smith. He was raised in the Bronx where he lived most of his life and graduated high school. He was employed with Maximus in Albany the last 4 years. Angelo will be remembered as a hard working family man and good father. He enjoyed a cool beer on occasion, while spending time with loved ones. Angelo is survived by his life partner, Damarys Santos, with whom he met on May 5, 1991 in the Bronx and shared 30 years together. Together Angelo and Damarys were blessed with a family. He leaves behind his children to cherish his memory; Angelo Louis Smith, Jr., Alexie Santos, Ebony Santos and Angelina Amanie Smith. Their family grew to include cherished grandchildren who survive; Madison, Loyalty, Eliza, Zavion, Nicholas, Jr., Jalius and Devon, Jr. Angelo will be sorely missed by his surviving siblings; Shirley and Sherman (Twins), Lorraine, Michelle, Danielle, GiGi, Shevoun, Jose and Milagros. A host of nieces and nephews also survive. In addition to the Lord and his mother Anne, Angelo was welcomed into Heaven by predeceased siblings; Marilyn and Freddie. Relatives and Friends are invited and may call from 1-3PM Sunday (July 25) in the Riverview Funeral Home, 218 2nd Avenue (corner of 104th Street) Troy, where a funeral service will take place Monday Morning (July 26) at 10 o'clock in the funeral home. Interment will follow the service in Oakwood Cemetery, Troy.
