Obituary of Steven Michael Hathaway

LANSINGBURGH Steven Michael Hathaway, 46, of Lansingburgh, died suddenly on January 5, 2021 at his home. Steven was born in Troy on May 7, 1974 and has been a lifelong resident of "The Burgh". He was the son of Melvin A. Hathaway, Jr. and the late Suzanne (Kehn) Hathaway Morine. Steven was a graduate of Troy High School, class of 1992. He worked in the food service industry for many years with various employers. Lastly employed by Everyday Gourmet in Albany as a restaurant manager. Steven was a member of the Eagle's Club in Lansingburgh as well as the Lansingburgh Boy's & Girl's Club. Steven enjoyed the outdoors which included fishing and camping. He was an avid Yankees and Cowboy's fan. Steven will be sorely missed and fondly remembered as an authentic, genuine, caring son, brother, uncle and friend to all. He was a natural leader and very giving to his family and friends. Survivors include his father, Melvin A. Hathaway, Jr., his brother Melvin A. Hathaway III (Deborah Milham), his sister Sandra (Guy) Rivenburg, his brother Edwin (Joy) Hathaway and his brother Joseph (Jamie) Hathaway. In addition, Steven is also survived by his best friends; Haji, Crystal, Fred and many nieces, nephews and cousins throughout the Capital Region. Steven was predeceased by his mother Suzanne Morine and his stepfather Charles Morine. Relatives and friends are invited and may call from 4-6 PM Monday, January 11, at Riverview Funeral Home, 218 2nd Avenue (corner of 104th Street) in Lansingburgh, where a funeral service will be conducted by Fr. John Provost at 6 o'clock in the funeral home. Face masks are required inside the funeral home and social distancing is to be observed.
