Obituary of Dorothy Alice Kleinschuster

Ballston Spa, NY Dorothy Kleinschuster died in the early morning hours on January 2, 2021 after a very sudden final illness at the age of 90. She formerly resided in East Northport, New York and Bradenton, Florida. Most recently, she was residing in Ballston Spa, New York, with her Daughter and Son-in-law. Dorothy was born to Felix and Agnes (Schrier) Krull in 1930 in New York City. After graduating from Christopher Columbus High School, she went to work in the Kemper Insurance Company. She married Richard Kleinschuster in 1953 and they had two children, Catherine Louise (Carl) Hackert of Ballston Spa, NY and Richard Kleinschuster, Jr. (Shelley Johnson) of East Northport, NY. After moving from the Bronx to East Northport, Dorothy worked in the cafeteria of John H. Glenn High School and later as a bookkeeper for the Paramount Brush Company. Dorothy will be remembered for her positive attitude, big heart and laugh. She was always ready with a smile and graciousness for friends and family. She was generous to a fault. Dorothy was a passionate tennis fan and had a life long love of horses. Indeed, her house is full of horse statues! Dorothy enjoyed traveling with her childhood friend, Marion Tremaroli Savage and got to see a lot of the USA and the world. The beach was her second family home in the summer on Long Island and at Marion's beach house in Florida. She enjoyed cooking the favorite family recipes from Germany and Hungary for her loved ones and eating them, too! She especially loved her only grandchild, Elizabeth Going (Collin) and was so happy to have danced at their wedding in 2019 and to have sat at their table in their new house for Thanksgiving in 2020. Dorothy was predeceased by her parents, older brother, Robert Krull, ex-husband but best friend Richard Kleinschuster, Sr. and best friend for life, Marion Tremaroli Savage. She is survived by her Daughter, Son-in-law; Son and Daughter-in-law; her sister-in law Alice Lardner (Kleinschuster) and nieces Margaret Ewing (Kleinschuster) and Lori Kleinschuster of Florida along with other family members and many friends. We will all miss her cheerful approach to life.
