Obituary of Ronald E. Barton

WATERVLIET Ronald E. Barton, 48, passed away suddenly on December 14, 2016 at his home in Watervliet. He was born on November 20, 1968, in Troy. Ron grew up in Schenectady. He attended Linton High School, in Schenectady, class of 1986. After high school, Ron began working with Local 12 Union, as an Iron worker/ Welder, through Bast Hatfield Construction Company for several years until he moved to Florida and began his own company, The ReScreen Professionals. Ron is survived by his mother Shirley (Dunn) Barton, his father Bruce K. Barton, Sr., four siblings, Jean (Barton) Vachon, Tracy (Barton) Lisi, Bruce (Deborah) Barton Jr, and Cristy (Barton) DeLacey. He is also survived by his paternal grandmother Maureen Barton, several nieces and nephews; Desiree Vachon, Amber Vachon, Timothy Flaherty, Stormi Gadoury, Shawn German, Shane German, Jasmine German, Michael Barton, Kristen Hankinson, Lindsey Hankinson, Alyssa (Michael) Hill (Ron's goddaughter), Ashley Connor (Ron's goddaughter), and Breanna DeLacey, as well as several great nieces and great nephews, cousins, aunts and uncles. Visitation will be held Thursday, December 22 from 6-8 p.m. at Riverview Funeral Home, 218 2nd Avenue (corner of 104th Street) Troy. Ron's uncle Rev. Todd Barton, will offer prayers of comfort at 7 p.m. which will open the time to share memories and stories of Ron. Ron was the most kind hearted, loving young man, who touched everyone's lives that he encountered. He was a lover of children, and animals, and he held family and friend's very near and dear to his heart. He will be greatly missed. In lieu of flowers the family requests memorial donations to be made in Ron's name, to St. Jude's Children's Hospital, or The Mohawk Valley No Kill Animal Shelter.
