Obituary of Paul J. Barnes, Sr.

BALLSTON SPA Paul J Barnes Sr., 75, passed away Tuesday, May 24, 2016 at Saratoga Hospital in Saratoga Springs. He leaves behind his 4 children Starr Durkee, Paul J Barnes Jr., Rita Trombley and her husband Jay, and Alisa Barnes; 9 grandchildren, 17 great grandchildren; and his brother John "Jack" Barnes and his wife Alice. He was predeceased by his parents John E. Barnes and Rita L Barnes (McMahon), and his brother Walter Barnes. Born in Cohoes, he graduated from Watervliet High School. After leaving school he began working at Bendix in Green Island, bar-tended at Mac's Seafood in Cohoes, and eventually working as a private contractor up until his last years of life. He enjoyed the great outdoors, and would frequently be found walking the trails through the woods, fishing, and hunting. He loved going out to dance, and talking to everyone that would listen. He also enjoyed watching sports, always rooting for the NY Giants and the NY Yankees. A private memorial service will be held at the family home in Ballston Spa at a later date for family members. Services are private at the convenience of the family.
