Obituary of Nancy Troue

Lansingburgh, NY- Nancy (Doyle) Troue, 83, of Lansingburgh, passed away peacefully at Van Rensselaer Manor on January 3, 2016, after a battle with Alzheimer's disease. She was born in Troy and was a lifelong resident of Lansingburgh. She was a graduate of Lansingburgh High School (Class of 1950) as well as Mildred Elley Secretarial School. For several years, Nancy was employed as a legal secretary for Smith, Pattison, Roberts & Sampson. She became a fulltime mother and homemaker after the birth of her first child. Nancy was a communicate of St. Augustine's Church. She had a great sense of humor, her motto was "Always leave them laughing." Nancy took great pride in her home; she loved decorating, her pool, yard, and enjoyed dining-out with her late husband and dear friends. She adored her grandchildren and cherished every moment she spent with them. Nancy was united in marriage to J. Paul Troue, Esq., on November 9, 1957 in St. Augustine's Church. Their union lasted 42 years until his death on January 15, 2000. Nancy is survived by her children; Gary P. Troue, Esq. of Cohoes, Sherry T. (John) Gilmore, Esq. of Grafton and Pamela H. Troue of Lansingburgh, her four granddaughters; Kathryn, Colleen and Caroline Troue all of Troy and Francesca (Matthew) Traub of Rochester, NY. Several nieces and nephews also survive. Besides her husband and parents, Nancy was predeceased by her son Craig S. Troue on July 20, 2013, as well as her siblings: John, Edward and William Doyle. Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Death and Burial at 11 a.m. on Saturday, January 9th at St. Augustine's Church, 25 115th Street in Lansingburgh.
