Obituary of Maria Anne MacGregor-Fiffe

Maria Anne MacGregor-Fiffe Ballston Lake- Maria Anne MacGregor-Fiffe, 39, of Ballston Lake, formerly of Cohoes, passed away unexpectedly at her home on Friday April 25, 2014 following a long illness. Maria was born in Troy, New York, to the late Frederick and Christine (Ryszkiewicz) MacGregor. Maria was a native of Cohoes and graduated from Cohoes High School. For the past 14 years she and her family resided in Ballston Lake. Before retiring in 2005, Maria was a receptionist for Delta Dental and Hair and Body Essentials. Maria loved the time she spent with " Her Girls" that she worked with at the salon. She especially missed the Christmas parties. Maria loved to bake and decorate cakes. Before her accident, she had a dream of opening up her own cake shop and name the business "Sweetie Cakes". Maria was a diehard NY Giant's fan. She loved Eli Manning; She was also a fan of the NY Yankees and # 2 Derek Jeter. Anyone that knew Maria, knew that purple was her favorite color and that she absolutely loved Justin Bieber. Those of us who knew her and loved her will never forget her!! Maria is survived by her best friend of 26 years / husband of 14 years, Thomas C. Fiffe, Sr. whom she married on June 3, 2000. Her cherished sons, Cody Anthony Joseph Ashline and Tommy C. Fiffe, Jr. both of Ballston Lake survive her. Maria is survived by her brother Shawn MacGregor of Cohoes, as well as several aunts, uncles and cousins. Maria will be reposing in the Chapel of the Riverview Funeral Home, 218 2nd Avenue (corner of 104th Street) in Lansingburgh, on Tuesday April 29, 2014. The family will be present to receive relatives and friends from 4-7 PM. The Funeral Service and Interment will be private at the convenience of the family, the Rev. John Facci will officiate. Maria will be laid to rest next to her beloved parents in St. Agnes Cemetery in Cohoes. For those who wish to remember Maria in a special way the family requests that donations may be made in her memory to the Mohawk-Hudson Humane Society because of her love for animals.
