My friend, Paula: "She was beautiful...but her looks never stood a chance compared to how breathtaking her soul is." She is the brightest, most beautiful star in the Universe. Just look up on a clear night and you will see her shining brightly. She was a true original; the best of the best! She was smart, funny, classy and sassy. I will always love her and forever carry her in my heart. So many stories and memories to hold, carry and retell. I was truly blessed to have known her since I was a teenager and we remained friends until the end and into eternity. We had loads of adventure, laughs and fun. We always had each others back over the years. Paul, I thank you with all my heart for loving and caring for Paula. You made her dreams come true and she was so happy with you! I know you are devasted but grateful for the time you spent together. You two were a great team. To her family, I know what a huge loss this is for you all. We are all still in shock and trying to process her leaving us way too soon. Thank you for sharing all of the wonderful stories of her growing up in your family home. My sincere condolences to Paul, her family, and to all those who had the extreme pleasure of knowing and loving the one and only, irreplaceable, Paula. xoxo Much love and many blessings, Tammy aka Tamalie as in Hot Tamalie (Paula's nickname for me!) xoxo

Paula and I were in high school together . She was always beautiful. I was shocked when she asked me to attend a dance at a country fair somewhere south of Albany. I was only a teenager and knew back then that she was out of my league. That she had much bigger plans in life. A beautiful soul with definitely be missed!

My heart and prayers go out to the entire Vadney family and to Paul Kentoffio- I am so sorry for the loss of a beautiful lady…I love Paula sooo much and will miss her more than she will ever know. We shared many great times…lunches at work, our coffee talks, our laughs and deep spiritual conversations that lasted for hours. Our recipes we shared and the list goes on. I will forever miss her infectious laugh , her knowledge about everything and anything. I will forever cherish every memory and never forget her. Heaven is sure damn lucky to have you now, but hope they are ready for my little firecracker. See you on the other side girlfriend…Rest easy for now Angel…I Love you -Gina Guilbeau

I was heartbroken to hear of Paula's passing. I have so many good memories of the time we spent together in North Albany. She came to parties and just to visit or lend a hand when she could. She could always bring a smith to anyone's face. She had a heart of gold and if you were her friend, you were a friend for life. I hope she is at peace now and may her memory be eternal as it is with me. You are all in my thoughts and prayers and knowing Paula was a real blessing. Love to you all.

I have not seen Paula in over 40 years but I remember her like it was yesterday. She was beautiful and feisty! You could see and hear her coming from a mile away. She left an indelible impression then and it appears she continued to do so until the end. I am so sorry for the loss of this, obvious, bright star to all…….it appears by the description written the world will be a little darker without her.

When I was a grubby little tomboy - I remember seeing Paula Jean and thinking she was the most beautiful girl I'd ever seen and, to me, the very embodiment of cool. She had a horse and she said whatever the #!@#! she wanted- even if the old people were around. I was completely fascinated by her and hoped that someday I could be just a fraction as amazing. When I got a little older - she would tell stories that would only serve to solidify my hero worship - especially when she showed me the switch blade she kept in her boot in case anyone tried to mess with her! Fast forward to when I was grown, married, and with my first baby on the way - she called me up and invited me to meet her for lunch - and we did that several times until the baby came and I got real busy raising my littles - but those lunches were priceless and unforgettable for me. She and I had wonderful long conversations mostly about family. She gave me a window to family stories that I otherwise would have never gotten to look through and I will be forever grateful to her for that. She also, I think, needed someone to talk to because during that time - Richie was sick and going through treatment and she was worried for him. I think I gave her a needed distraction and I am so glad I was able to do that. My dad called her "Paola Diavolo" with a most sincere affection and, I think, a genuine admiration for her and her way of living life her very own way and taking sh** from no one. I live in regret that we don't get together enough as a family and always think there will be time to hang out soon - but this is the sad result of thinking soon will come. She was and is a powerhouse of spirit that I happily share stories with my daughters about and will now be forever sorry they didn't get to know her better. All my love to Anita, my cousins and Paul for their terrible loss.
