Laura & Gerald Laurin, with 5 grandchildren, Jared, Heather, Jeshua, Jonathon & Jordan, along with 8 great grandchildren. She was Nanny to all who knew her. Gladys grew up in Delson, during the depression, World War 2, and the post war era. Hard times in a large family. Gladys became a resident of Troy, NY, in 1952. She raised her children in Troy, West Sand Lake, Troy again, Speigletown, and Lansingburgh, (her final home from 1968-2018). She worked over 30 yrs in Samaritan Hospital, as a nurse's aide, first in geriatrics and then in maternity. Maternity was a place she loved & cherished. She was present when her daughters gave birth, and was always around, from 1974 until recently in the lives of her grandchildren. Gladys was a crafty person, knitting sweaters for each newborn, quilting, crafting and painting, pottery and becoming a talented hooker, rug hooker that is, weaving rugs for all. Gladys, "Nanny", Urquhart will be cherished forever as Mom. We will miss you.
