Obituary of Randall A. Schanz
LATHAM-
Randall A. Schanz, 32, of Latham, died suddenly from injuries sustained from a motor vehicle accident on November 21, 2021.
He was born in Albany on August 28, 1989, the son of Alfred R. and Dawn M. (Pappas) Schanz.
Randall has called the Capital Region home for most of his life and resided in Latham at the time of his death.
He was a graduate of Highpoint High School in Massachusetts. Randall was employed at the Home Depot in Latham.
He was a member of the Special Olympics. He loved sports and was an avid
New England Patriots fan. He was also a fan of Larry Bird, WWE Wrestling (especially Roman Reigns and Edge).
Above all, Randall loved his family, especially his wife Amber, their "fur baby" Trouble and his nieces and nephews.
Randall married Amber Louise (Zwinge) on September 8, 2018, who survives. In addition to his wife and parents, Randall is survived by two sisters Erica L. (Tim) Tufts and Lisa M. Schanz. He is also survived by a dear cousin (more like a sister) Andrea Pappas, his grandmother Joan Weir, two uncles Willie (Jeannine) Pappas and Butch Pappas and one aunt Joan Ciccarelli. Randall is also survived by two sisters-in-law Racheal and Sarah, as well as four nephews and three nieces.
Relatives and friends are invited and may call from 1-3pm on Saturday, November 27th in the Riverview Funeral Home, 218 2nd Avenue (corner of 104th Street) in Troy.
In lieu of flowers the family requests donations in Randall's memory be made to either the Alzheimer's Association or the Special Olympics.
