Obituary of Willis Earl "Charlie" Wescott, Sr.

STEPHENTOWN- Willis Earl "Charlie" Wescott, Sr., 60, of Stephentown, passed away peacefully on July 19, 2021 after a long battle with lung cancer. Charlie, as he was known to his family and friends, was born on March 21, 1961 in Grafton, NY. He was the son of the late Chester Wescott, Sr. and Ruth (Jones) Wescott. He grew up in Grafton, lived in Troy for many years and settled in Stephentown for the last 8 years. Charlie was a man of many talents. He was a skilled, self-employed laborer in farming, logging, contracting, butchering and was a self-taught mechanic. He enjoyed hunting and fishing, pig-roasts, BBQs and family time. His favorite spot was Cherry Plain State Park where the family reunions would be held. Charlie is survived by 9 children; Heidi Smith (Shane), Virginia Wescott, Joseph Wescott (Faith), Willis Wescott, Jr., Andy Wescott, Anthony Wescott, Sr., Lena Wescott, Lydia Wescott and Justine Wescott. Charlie is also survived by 21 grandchildren (+ one on the way) as well as his siblings; Barbara Jean Wescott, Carol Ann Wescott, Chester Wescott Jr, Donald Wescott Sr, Elizabeth Manard, Fred Wescott, Harold Wescott, Kenneth Wescott, Patricia Moon, Ruth Ann Casey. He was predeceased by his sisters Joann Sawyer, Linda Brundige-Osier, Anna Allen, and Marjorie Osgood.
