Obituary of Ruth C. Edwards

Troy, NY Ruth C. Edwards, 85, passed away peacefully with her loving daughter at her side on Tuesday, November 19 at Van Rensselaer Manor after a long illness. Born in Schaghticoke, Ruth was the daughter of the late John and Mildred Simmons Kane. Ruth was employed for many years as an office clerk working with Denbys, Carl Co. and Cohoes Manufacturing and Benetech before retiring in 1976 and then moving to Fort Myers, FL, for 25 years before returning to the area and settling in Clifton Park. Ruth was a past member of the Veterans of Lansingburgh and the American Legion. Besides her parents, Ruth was predeceased by her husband, Duane Edwards who died in 1970 and her 9-month-old son, Peter who died in 1961. Ruth leaves behind to mourn her loss, her daughter, Amy B. Edwards (Larry Mullins, dcd). Her funeral service will be held on Saturday, November 30th at 12:30 pm from the Chapel of the Riverview Funeral Home, 218 2nd Avenue (corner of 104th St.) Lansingburgh, with the Rev. Nick TeBordo, officiating. Relatives and friends are invited to attend and may also call at the funeral home from 11 am to 12:30 pm prior to the service. Inurnment immediately following in Elmwood Hill Cemetery, Belle Avenue, Troy, NY. Ruths daughter, Amy, wishes to thank the nurses and staff on B-1 for their devoted and compassionate care shown to her mother during her time at the Manor.
