Obituary of Lynn M. Lewis
Lynn M. Horan Lewis, 77 passed away on Monday, November 18, 2019 at Riverside Rehab & Nursing in Castleton after a long illness. Born in Troy, NY she was the daughter of the late, Thomas L. Horan, Sr. and Irene E. Schloupt Horan. Before living in Schodack she had lived for many years in Pittstown and Hudson Falls.
Lynn was a homemaker and Volunteer with the Pittstown Emergency Corp. She attended St. Georges Church in Pittstown and St. Mary & St. Pauls Church in Hudson Falls. Lynn was affectionately known as The Soup Queen but even more so as The Duct Tape Queen her motto being: I came, I saw, I duct taped.
She was a dedicated journal keeper, and crotchetier, sharing her skill by providing many with quilts and lap blankets. She was an avid on-line Scrabble player, engaging with people all over the world. She loved camping at Lake Minerva, trips to Florida, cruises to Nova Scotia and AAA Trio Trips.
Besides her parents, Lynn was predeceased by a daughter, Diane Cottrell and siblings: Shirley Russo and Donald and Michael Horan. Lynn leaves behind to mourn her loss her devoted husband of 59 years, Raymond D. Lewis; children: David (Brenda) Lewis of Troy, Maria (Phillip) Mayhew of Schodack, Linda (Paul) DeDominicis of Menands and Christine Lewis of Schenectady; siblings: Thomas (Diane) Horan and Gail DeLucia; grandchildren: Stacy Anatriello, Keith Mayhew, Cassandra and Victoria DeDominicis, Daniel, Jacob and Laura Lewis and Amber and Kyle Gauthier. She is also survived by four great grandchildren: Aurin, Eliza, Lexi and Liam as well as many nieces, nephews and cousins.
Funeral Friday afternoon at 12 pm from Our Lady of Victory Church, 55 N. Lake Avenue, Troy, where the Liturgy of Christian Burial will be celebrated. Relatives and friends are invited to attend and may also call at Our Lady of Victory Church on Friday from 10 to 11:45 am prior to the mass. Inurnment will take place immediately following the mass at St. Marys Cemetery, Troy.
