Obituary of Jane Marie Simpson

Jane Marie Simpson, 94, of Troy N.Y. passed away October 10, 2019 while in the loving care of herfamily. Born in Troy, Jane was the daughter of Robert & Helen Wilson. She was predeceased by husband Hugh (Bud) Simpson and siblings, Robert (Brud) Wilson Jr., James Wilson, Margaret Wilson, Helen Sherman, and Elizabeth Peters. She is survived by her children: Richard Simpson (Monica), Nancy Simpson (Keith Saur), Diane Simpson (Mark Kearney), Mark Simpson, and Kelly Simpson, and her brother Don Wilson (Judy) and grandchildren: Andrew Larson (Tracy Margosian), Sarah and Adam Daus, Amelia Stickelmyer, Jesse Cartagena, Emma and Payson Seager (Margaret Hinrichs), and many nieces and nephews. A lifelong resident of Troy, Jane was a devoted wife and mother who stayed at home to raise her five children andlater in life took her caring nature to work as a med-certified aide with Rensselaer County ARC. She loved baseball and enjoyed going to Joe Bruno field to see the Tri-City Valleycats play, usually singing Take Me Out to the Ballgame on the way to the game. In recent months her appetite diminished but she always had room for ice cream. Both Bud & Jane were big-hearted and always welcomed all their childrens friends into the family fold. When Bud was diagnosed with dementia, Jane insisted that he remain at home under her and her childrens care, which he did until the day he passed. Jane resided at Van Rensselaer Manor for several years and spent her final weeks in the care of her family in her daughter Dianes home. Funeral Thursday moring at 9:30 o'clock from St. Anthony of Padua Church, 28 State Street, Troy, NY where the Liturgy of Christian Burial will be celebrated. Relatives and friends are invited to attend and may also call at the Rivervivew Funeral Home, 218 2nd Avenue (corner 104th St.) Lansingburgh on Wednesday from 4 to 7 pm. Interment scheduled at 11:30 am in the Gerald B.H. Solomon Saratoga National Cemetery, 200 Duell Road,Schuylerville, NY 12871.
