Obituary of Willard D. "Will" Bailey, Jr.

Willard D Bailey Jr., 58 of Carondelet Apartments in Latham, passed away suddenly Thursday January 10, 2019 with his son by his side at Samaritan Hospital. Born on July 4th, 1960 in Troy, he was the son of Lillian Bailey Burr and the late Willard D. Bailey Sr. He was the loving husband of the late Linda Simard Bailey, they were married for 26 years. He was a graduate of Hoosic Valley Central School in Schaghticoke, class of 1978. Will worked as a manager at Mr. Subb for several years as well as for Prestige Food Company. Will enjoyed cooking, sports, bowling and Saturday night poker games. He loved The Beatles band. He was a member of the Alpha Bowling Lanes in Troy since his teens. Will loved pets, especially his fur babies, McKenzie and the late Pepper. Will was devoted to his family, he was the go to guy no matter what the situation or his condition. He loved telling Aston stories and was always available for that I need a ride call. Survivors include his son Kyle Bailey of Johnsonville, stepdaughter Rebecca ODonnell (Fred) of Troy, stepson Paul ODonnell (Amy) of Wynantskill, six grandchildren; his siblings Linda Carman and Beverly Bailey Peyser of Johnsonville, mother-in-law Joan Roberts Simard of Troy, father-in-law the late Eugene Simard, sister-in-law Barbara Biette (Gary) of Troy and Dawn Simard (Bud Mitchell) of Troy, brother-in-law Earl Simard of Schenectady, Arthur Simard (Annette) of Troy and Christopher Simard of Troy. Also survived by several nieces and nephews and beloved Aunt Ruth Labelle. The family would like to thank the Simard family and Pastor Jim for their love and support in making Wills wishes possible, they have been a very big part of his life. Graveside services will be held on Wednesday January 16that 1:00 p.m. in the Oakwood Bible Church Cemetery, 260 Oakwood Ave., Troy, NY. Relatives and friends are invited to attend and may also call at the Riverview Funeral Home, 218 2ndAvenue at 104thStreet,Troy, NY, on Tuesday, January 15th from 5 to 6:30 PM.
