Obituary
Obituary of Carolyn Ann Krause
Troy, NY
Carolyn Peacock Krause (b. 9 May 1940) died suddenly on Tuesday, November 27, 2018. She is survived by her husband of forty-nine years, Stephen Alfred Krause, her two sons, Stephen Eloy Krause (m. Christine Ryan Krause) of Ipswich, MA; and their three daughters, Carolyns beloved granddaughters, Amelia, Estelle, and Jayne and Timothy John Krause (m. Grace Kline) of Brooklyn, NY.
Carolyn was the daughter of Eloy and Helen Peacock of Troy, where she was born and raised. Carolyn attended the University of Albany, from which she graduated with a BA in Mathematics, minoring in Library Science. A homemaker for forty years, Carolyn worked at Brittonkill Central Schools (now Brunswick), where she was first a math teacher and later a guidance counselor. It was there she met Stephen. She is remembered fondly by her family as the life and heart of their home, a tireless and loving wife and mother who always found time amid her busy schedule to listen and to talk, to empathize and to understand.
Carolyn was an avid cook and gardener, and participated fully in her husbands landscaping business for many years, helping him both design and plant his gardens for a number of clients. Carolyn was also a rabid Boston Bruins fan, a passion she shared with her elder son. She was a tireless seeker after the good, and always hopeful that people would do their best no matter what the challenges or the cost. It is a testament to the depth of Carolyns abiding interest in her fellow humans, and to the breadth of her feelings for her family and for others, that she never stopped searching for the good, or ceased hoping for the best from others. Her family was everything to her.Her family remembers her with love, and hopes that she has found, not in the next world but in this troubled, fallible, and beautiful one, some small measure of the love and kindness and light that she shed so effortlessly and so often while she lived.
There are no funeral or memorial services planned at this time.
