Obituary of Walter Edward Hedberg

Troy, NY Walter Hedberg, 90, of Troy, beloved husband of Joyce (Albin) Hedberg, went home to be with the Lord on May 13, 2018. Born in Patchogue, NY, he was the son of the late Gustav and Sarah (Wheeler) Hedberg. Walter served in the U.S. Army from 1950-1952. He worked at The Northport VA Hospital, Eastern Nazarene College and for New York State. He enjoyed camping, tending to his vegetable garden and feeding the wild birds. Besides his parents, Walter was predeceased by his siblings: Wesley, Allen, Ruth and Margaret and a granddaughter, Danielle King. He is survived by his wife, three children: Kenneth (Kim) Hedberg, Kathleen Hedberg and Lorraine (Daniel) Lewis; two grandchildren: Amanda and Scott Lewis and 2 great grandchildren: Samantha and Donovyn King. A Funeral service will be conducted on Wednesday evening at 7 PM from the Chapel of the Riverview Funeral Home, 218 2ndAvenue (corner of 104thStreet) Lansingburgh. Relatives and friends are invited to attend and may also call at the Riverview Funeral Home on Wednesday from 4 to 7PM prior to the service. Interment with full military honors will take place at the Gerald B.H. Solomon Saratoga National Cemetery, Schuylerville, on Thursday morning at 10:30oclock. Memorial contributions in Walters memory may be made to Eastern Nazarene College, 23 East Elm Avenue, Wollaston, MA 02170.
