I always looked forward to seeing Bill on Wednesday afternoon for Oil Painting at the Senior Center. He was a wonderful artist and everyone enjoyed his great sense of humor. We would sit and talk about his time at sea. I looked up the ship he sailed on and printed it for him. He thought that was great! We talked all about his times on board. He had such great stories. While working at the senior center I had the privilege to know his brother Don (another artist) and his sister Marion (who would pinch my cheek). Wonderful people. I can't say enough about this man. He will be missed and I will never forget him.

Dear Uncle Billy, although I have only just met you via Lissy McCormack, your niece Elaine's daughter, we have talked on the phone and face timed so I feel close to you in that way. When I first saw you, I remembered my grandfather John Ratigan from when I was very young. I'm sorry we didn't get to meet in person but I enjoyed our phone calls and the stories you shared about my dad Herbert F. Ratigan. May you rest in the peace of Christ. Until we meet again, thank you for our time.

Rick and I want to say how very sorry for your loss. We loved all the time we spent with Uncle Billy. I was so happy that we got to see him for one last time when he came to Rochester with Rusty. He was able to come and see our new home. We are very fortunate to have a few of his beautiful paintings. He also loved that Rick was a photographer like him. They talked a lot about their cameras. Uncle Billy is now with his parents and brothers and sisters. I'm sure he was welcomed with open arms from them. I am very sad that I cannot be there since we are in the Outer Banks. Please know that my heart is with you. Love Rick and Kathy

Our sincere sympathy to "Uncle Bill's" family and friends. He was a person who brought a smile with him when he visited in the Boston area for gatherings. His art work remains a treasure. Thinking of the extended Ratigan family at this time. Sinceeely, Ellen Foley and Jack Murphy
