Obituary of Paul Hans, Jr.

TROY - Paul Hans, Jr., retired postal worker of over 35 years and long-time resident of Troy, died on April 3, 2016 at the age of 73. His wife of 44 years, Kate, as well as his sons David and Sean, a brother Michael, and many nieces and nephews survive. Paul was a lifetime member of the Watervliet Ancient Order of Hibernians. During his time with the A.O.H., he held positions on the local, state and national levels and has been honored as Hibernian of the Year. He also devoted many happy hours serving as Ticket Manager and Treasurer for the Circle Theatre Players in Sand Lake. Informal memorials will take place from 7-9 PM on Wednesday, May 25th at the Sand Lake Center for the Arts, located at 2880 Route 43, Averill Park, and again on Friday, May 27th at the Watervliet Ancient Order of Hibernians, located at 1021 9th Ave, Watervliet. In lieu of flowers, the family is specifically requesting financial assistance in order to move Paul's son David from Colorado back to Troy, so that David can continue his father's role of caring for Kate, who is disabled.
