Obituary of Carol A. Purtell
Troy, NY
Carol A. Purtell, passed away peacefully at home on Friday October 2, 2015. Carol was the daughter of John & Dorothy Pfeffer of Coxsackie, NY; a 1966 Graduate of Coxsackie-Athens. Predeceased by sister Christine, her parents, and aunts & uncles. Carol is survived by her loving husband of 45 years, Roy Purtell, and two children, her son, Bryan, and daughter, Adrianne.
Carol spent her career working for SUNY Central Admin. She truly cherished her work and finally retired in 2009. After retirement, Roy and Carol enjoyed traveling; especially attending Navy reunions with Roy and her many friends that she made over the years.
Carol will be waked at the Church of St. John the Evangelist and St. Joseph, located at 53 Herrick Street, Rensselaer. Family and friends are invited to the church on Wednesday October 7th from 10am to 11am with a Mass of Christian Burial to follow at 11am. Following Mass she will be interred at Saratoga National Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers the family invites donations in her memory to be sent to St. Augustine's Catholic School, 523 4th Ave, Troy, NY 12182 or St. John the Evangelist and St. Joseph's Memorial Fund, 53 Herrick St, Rensselaer, NY 12144.
