" I think one of the biggest aspects of my dad's life that has made the greatest impact on me, is the fact that he had roughly a 5th- 6th grade education.
With it, he made a life for himself that was comparable to that of a person with an advanced degree.
He had a work ethic that was second to none.
He wasn't afraid to do what others wouldn't.
He was no stranger to hard work and long hours. Dad never took days off of work to appease anyone, not even himself. He
took his vacation, but worked, well on his cars!
He worked in factories, simply put; he did whatever he had to do to support his family.
Dad had this thing with his khaki uniforms.
He wore them to work well ironed and clean. He wore his khakis as an executive of a law firm would. He wore them to work even when uniforms weren't required for the job.
He wore them to visit you and me. That was my dad!
He lives on in everyone's life he's touched. Don't forget the khaki! "
-Written from the heart of his daughter, Althea Wood.
