Albany, NY- Courtney Alexander Yates, 27, of 261 Clinton Avenue, Albany, departed this life, suddenly on Tuesday May 5, 2015. He was born on September 23, 1987 in Petersburg, VA. He attended Sussex Central and Albany High School. Courtney was a hard-working family man that loved to cook and his favorite food was fried chicken. He was a loving, dear son, a devoted father, a caring and compassionate brother, a humorous, caring and helpful friend. He was kind-hearted, considerate and thoughtful. His predeceased father affectionately called him "A lump of GOLD". He was the life of the party! To know him was to love him and his memory will forever live in our hearts. He leaves to cherish his memory his mother Patricia Yates and his surrogate father Dennis Edney, his fianc Robin Williams, his 6 children: Jay'Juan Chirse, Amiyah Yates, Xzavier Yates, Elegance Yates, Cameron Payne and Courtney Yates, Jr. Courtney has 6 siblings who also survive: Kendi Yates, Kishanya Bonner, Jamaica, Rafael, Jahkeel and Jared Yates. To Quote Psalms 107: 41-43 "Yet setteth he the poor on high from affliction, and maketh him families like a flock. The righteous shall see it, and rejoice: and all iniquity shall stop her mouth. Whoso is wise and will observe these things, even they shall understand the loving kindness of the Lord" Home going funeral service in celebration of Courtney's life will be held on Monday, May 11, at 12:30PM at Metropolitan Baptist Church, 105 Second Street, Albany, NY 12210. Viewing hours will be at the church prior to the service from 11AM to 12:30 PM. Interment will follow in Memory Gardens in Colonie.
