Obituary of Rose Marie Guliano

Rotterdam, NY- Rose Marie (Zeno) Guliano, 86, of Crestwood Drive, Rotterdam, passed away at her home on Thursday April 16, 2015 following a brief illness, with her loving family by her side. Mrs. Guliano was born in Oswego, NY, the daughter of the late Anthony Zeno and Anna Gentile. Before her marriage, Rose Marie worked in a candy factory, which may explain her lifelong love of only the finest milk chocolate. She married Dominick J. Guliano on April 26, 1947 at St. Joseph's Church in Oswego, NY. Together they enjoyed 65 years of marriage. Dom was always sure to give his wife yellow roses on every special occasion, because they were her favorite flower. Dominick passed away on November 3, 2012. Rose Marie loved elephants and was an avid collector of elephant figurines as well as jewelry and stuffed toys. But she valued elephants the most because of their impressive long memory and expression of loyalty to family. As a grandmother, Rose Marie passed down advice to her beloved granddaughters. She often told them "the secret to a long and loving marriage was to share everything with each other". Card games were her favorite pastime, but she also enjoyed playing Sunday afternoon bingo with her daughters. The endless summers of rummy games with her granddaughters was something that brought her great joy. Rose Marie is survived by her loving daughters, Nancy Anne Morris (Ronald) and Anne Marie Bordeau (Roy) both of Rotterdam; her beloved granddaughters, Michelle Budka (Thomas, Sr.) of Scotia and Andrea Bordeau (Brent Williams), currently of Champaign, Illnois; and cherished great-grandson, Thomas Budka, Jr., as well as several nieces and nephews. Besides her husband, Rose Marie was predeceased by her siblings Anna, Lucy and Frank. The family will receive relatives and friends from 10AM to 11AM on Monday, April 20th at the Riverview Funeral Home, 218 2nd Avenue (corner of 104th Street) in Troy, where a funeral service will commence at 11AM with the Rev.
