Obituary of Joseph O. Duval

TROY- Joseph O. Duval, of Troy, affectionately known as "Buck" and/or "Uncle Joe", passed away suddenly in his home early Wednesday morning February 4, 2015. He was 56 years old. Joe was known for his great workmanship whether it be remodeling homes, automobiles, motorcycles, or crafting a "diaper trike" for his grandson or a wishing well for his daughter. Joe took great pleasure in helping other people. He lived a good life surrounded by family and friends. Anyone who knew Joe also knew that he loved motorcycles and was a Harley Davidson advocate. But the only things that he enjoyed more than riding, was his family, the company of his friends, his get togethers and parties. Joe was a genuinely nice man who had a lot to offer with his skills and personality. He loved and cherished his grandson Noah Joseph and his legacy will always be with him. His two nephews who stuck by his side Frank Christian and Christopher Chisena always had a good laugh or two when hanging with their Uncle Buck. They cannot be thanked enough for all of their support in helping their uncle. Survivors include his daughter Katie L. Duval, his grandson Noah J. Duval-Zaremski, his long time girlfriend Gale Chevalier, his previous spouses Nancy A. Otonowski and Paula M. Roddy-Piche, his sisters Jane A. Davey, Kay P. Adams, Mary A. Bridger, his brother Eddie J. Duval as well as many nieces, nephews and cousins. Joe is predeceased by his father John E. Duval, his step mother Berth Grady, his mother Kathryn Micheals-Cranney, his step father Robert Cranney, his brother John E. Duval Jr. and his son Joseph O. Roddy-Duval. Relatives and Friends are invited to pay their respects to Joe on Wednesday evening (February 11th, 2015) at the Riverview Funeral Home, 218 2nd Avenue (corner of 104th Street) in Lansingburgh. Where the Family will be present to receive condolences from 4PM until 6PM. A graveside committal service will be conducted the following morning at 11AM at St. Mary's Cemetery in Troy.
