Obituary of Catherine Rosetta Murphy
On January 6, 2015 God saw Catherine Rosetta Murphy was getting tired, and a cure was not to be, so He put His arms around her and whispered, "Come to me". Catherine was 59 years old and died following a long illness at St. Peter's Hospital in Albany, NY. She was born in Albany on November 25, 1955 a daughter of the late Harold T. Plue and Anna Mae (Ellis) Plue. Catherine lived in the Capital District all of her life, previously in Rensselaer where she attended local schools and received her education but most recently in Albany.
Catherine enjoyed the outdoors and passed time sitting on her porch, that, or her computer puzzle games. It was well known that she "had to have her coffee" which she enjoyed at her special place - at the table.
Catherine is remembered for her ability to make one laugh which she knew how to do very well as well as her caring and giving nature. She had the biggest heart in the world and she loved her family and friends so much and enjoyed her get togethers with them.
Catherine is survived by her husband of 40 years, Patrick T. Murphy, Sr., to whom she wedded on her birthday, November 25, 1974 in Watervliet, NY, as well as their children; Rosetta Louise Murphy, Patrick T. Murphy, Jr., Lee A. Somma and Harold E. Murphy. Catherine is also survived by one sister, Jean Plue as well as three grandchildren, Alexandra Sheehan, Chris Somma and Mike Somma.
Besides her parents, Catherine was predeceased by her two brothers, Harold Plue and George A. Plue.
