Obituary of Franklin D. Smith

Franklin D Smith 82, of North Troy NY passed away on Tuesday Nov 18th at Memorial Hospital in Albany . Frank was a Korean War Veteran and a retired Sergeant in the NY State Troopers. His law enforcement career also included Para Trooper and NY State Scuba Diver. He then went on to work in related fields and finally retired as Sergeant-at-Arms for the NY State Senate. He enjoyed his retirement at his beloved home with his wife and pets. He spent most nice days outside tending to their yard or garden. Franklin is survived by his wife Darwina, son David, daughter Sharon, son in law Christopher as well as his only living sibling Lois Bushey. He also has two grandchildren, Michael & Milissa Dame. Franklin was a gentle, caring man with an avid love for animals. In honor of his love for animals the family is requesting donations be made in his memory to the Hudson Mohawk Humane Society,3 Oakland Avenue , Menands , NY 12204, in lieu of flowers. SERVICES WILL BE PRIVATE AT THE CONVENIENCE OF THE FAMILY. INTERMENT WILL BE IN MEMORY's GARDEN in COLONIE. SERVICES WILL BE PRIVATE Services will be private at the convenience of the Family with Interment in Memory's Garden Memorial Park in Colonie, NY.
