Obituary of Mary F. Krutka

Cohoes- Mary F. Krutka, 80, of Cohoes, passed away during the early hours on Thursday November 6, 2014 following a lengthy illness. Born in Albany on April 12, 1934, Mary was a daughter of the late John Valcik and Mary (Zvoncak) Valcik. Mary grew up in Albany where she attended local schools. Mary graduated from St. Joseph's Academy in 1953; and was valedictorian. Mary married her husband Andrew Krutka in 1954 and has resided in Cohoes ever since. She was employed for many years as a planner with the Department of Dense at the Watervliet Arsenal. Mary's favorite vacation place was Seaside Heights in New Jersey; it was her destination every year. Mary is remembered for her artistic talent. Survivors include her devoted daughter, Michele Krutka of Cohoes, her beloved grandchildren Lisa McGovern and Bill McGovern both of Cohoes, her cherished great grandchildren; Zakary Halloran, Nicholas Halloran and Emmalee Clow. Surviving siblings include; Fran Valcik of Cohoes, Frank (Doreen) Valcik of Latham, Millie (Jack) Salvinski of Albany and Johnny (Reggie) Valcik of Clifton Park. Mary was predeceased by her husband Andrew, as well as her son Michael Krutka, her daughter Paula Krutka McGovern and her brother Joe (Jannie) Valcik. Relatives and Friends are invited to attend the Mass of Christian Burial for Mary, which will be offered at 9AM on Thursday November 13th, at the Church of the Holy Trinity, 122 Vliet Blvd, Cohoes, NY 12047. Interment will follow in the Gerald B.H. Solomon - Saratoga National Cemetery, where Mary will be laid to rest along side her husband Andrew.
