Obituary of Beverly Naomi "Ma" Wyatt

Beverly Naomi Wyatt, affectionately known as "ma," was born August 19, 1951 in Brooklyn, New York to the late Mary Loretta and Norman Arthur Gordon. Beverly was called home to be with the Lord on Monday November 3, 2014. Beverly grew up in Brooklyn, NY but later moved to Wyandanch Long Island where she received her high school diploma in Dressmaking and Garment Manufacturing from Wyandanch Memorial High School. Beverly moved from Wyandanch Long Island to Albany, New York where she stayed briefly before relocating to Rowland, North Carolina. After being in North Carolina for several years, Beverly returned to Albany, New York to be closer to her family. Beverly was primarily employed as a seamstress but also worked in child care, office administration, retail and housekeeping. At a very young age Beverly accepted the Lord in her life. She was a dedicated woman of God who loved to lift up the name of the Lord in word, song and dance. Beverly attended Trinity Holiness Church under the leadership of the late Pastor Mae Jones and faithfully served when the late Pastor Mary L. Gordon succeeded Pastor Mae Jones. Beverly became a member of Living Word Tabernacle, Pastor Valerie Faust, where she was ordained and licensed as an Evangelist. She made her final church home, Christ Church of Albany, Pastor James D. Davis, where she actively participated in helping to build God's kingdom and to tear down the strongholds of the enemy. Beverly loved music and played the piano in her early years of ministry and preached the word of God wherever and whenever she was asked to do so. Beverly was preceded in death by: her parents Mary Loretta and Norman Arthur Gordon and brother Benjamin Arthur Gordon. Beverly leaves to cherish many beautiful memories of her life: husband Perry Wyatt, Albany, NY; one sister, Grace Ross, Syracuse NY; one brother, David (Eunice) Gordon Sr., Albany, NY; one uncle, Leon "Dudley" Lynch, Queens, NY; four children, Sandra (Dwayne) Griffith, Atlanta GA, Randy (Lawanda) Patterson Jr., Laurel MD and Desmond and Perry Wyatt, Albany, NY; six grandchildren, Levon Price, Albany, NY, Jamar and JaQuina Price and Tyric Foreman, Atlanta, GA and Jayden and Brianna Patterson, Laurel MD; one great grandchild, Jazara Price, Albany, NY; one godchild Jah-Sonnah McCallister, Albany, NY; father-in-law Perry Wyatt and two sisters-in-law, Denise Wyatt-Vickers and Renee Wyatt, all from Brooklyn, NY and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, friends and loving church family.
