Obituary of James E. Carll

James E. Carll Jr. passed from this life peacefully at his home on Friday, November 8, 2013. He was born in Albany to Mabel Qualtieri and the late James E. Carll. He is survived by brother Dan Carll, sister Cynthia Leffler, beloved friend Brenda Burke, niece Danette Carll, niece Amber Swim, nephew Brandon Swim, nephew Ian Leffler, and nephew Michael Leffler. Jim was raised in Guilderland New York and settled in Westerlo, NY after serving four years in the Navy. He was a talented locksmith and practiced the trade for many years. He also joined the Operating Engineers Local 106 in 1996 and remained a member for the rest of his life. Jim enjoyed working with his hands and spent his free time building model cars, completing puzzles, and working on automobiles. He was generous to a fault and often lent his mechanical skills to others. He was a kind and very loyal friend and brother. He bravely fought cancer with a warriors spirit . He was a lifelong fan of the NY Giants and the New York Yankees. There will be a celebration of his life on Sunday, November 17, 2013 at the Blanchard American Legion Post 1040 16 West Poplar Drive, Delmar from 1-4. All are welcome. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to Hospice Care in Jim's name.
