Obituary of Helen Olive King

Austin, TX Helen Olive King was born March 30, 1932 in Troy, New York and grew up in the Cherry Plain area with her parents, Edward Leo King and Mary Elizabeth McNamara King and her older sister, Shirley Ann King O'Brien. She graduated from Berlin High School and The College of Saint Rose in Albany. After college, she taught business at Ichabod Crane High School in Columbia County and later in the Croton Harmon School District in Westchester until she retired in 1991. Helen spent summers in West Dennis on Cape Cod and traveled the world with her friends. She lived in Peekskill, New York until 2013 when she moved to Austin, Texas to live near her nephew. She is survived by her nephew, William J. O'Brien and his wife, Shannon, of Austin, Texas. Funeral Services will commence at 11 AM in the Chapel of the Riverview Funeral Home, Inc. Located at 218 2nd Ave., (Corner of 104th St) Troy, NY, 12180. Helen will be reposing in the chapel of the funeral home prior to the service. The family will be present to receive relatives and friends beginning at 10 AM until the time of the service. Interment will follow in St. Paul's Cemetery in Mechanicville, NY. A memorial service for Helen will be held in Westchester at a time and date to be announced.
