Obituary of Elizabeth Clara Riley
Troy
Elizabeth Clara Riley of 2nd Street, passed away on Saturday, July 27th at Albany Medical Center Hospital surrounded by her loving family.
Elizabeth was born in Huntington Station, Long Island, NY to the late: Walter Wilshusen and Marjorie Lorraine Hasslinger Wilshusen.
She earned a Professional Certification from a Business College in Boston, MA in 1966.
Thereafter she served in the US Airforce.
Upon entering the workforce, Elizabeth worked as a bookkeeper for both a construction company and the Salvation Army.
Elizabeth was a good mother who will be remembered for her immaculate housekeeping and her willingness to help others as was evidenced with her raising both her grandson and great-grandson.
She was a woman of varied interests who enjoyed reading and history and in particular Native American and Egyptian.
She had a "green thumb" and was an avid gardener transforming her backyard into a sanctuary of blooms with roses and flowers lining the pathway.
For recreation she enjoyed going to the Racino at every opportunity.
She was a woman of fashion, wit and a straightforward manner. Elizabeth loved animals.
All who loved and knew her will sorely miss her.
She is survived by her children: Celeste Ann (Miguel) Esteves, George Luis Morales, Jennifer Inez (Miguel) Paz Riley and Denise Nicole Riley, her sister: Joan Ross, her 11 grandchildren: Michael, Jocelin, Alyssa, Julie, Brianna, Trenise, Terese, Jordan, Ethan, Gabriel and Tristen,
her 3 great grandchildren: Baby Mike, Antonio and Isabella Rose and her niece and nephews: Christopher, Michael and Sophia and their children.
Funeral Saturday afternoon at 3 PM in the Chapel of Riverview Funeral Home, Inc., 218 2nd Avenue (corner of 104th Street) Troy, NY 12180 with Harold William Vadney, III, M. Div. officiating.
Relatives and friends may visit beginning at 1 PM.
