Obituary of Shirley A. Furtado

Shirley Ann Furtado, 77, of Homosassa, Florida passed away Wednesday, May 15th surrounded by her loving family. Born Shirley Ann Forman in Waterford, NY to James and Edna (Bessette) Forman, she was a graduate of Lansingburgh High School. Shirley worked as a bookkeeper most of her life and was co-owner and instructor of Corral Ceramics in Cohoes, NY. She was predeceased by her brother, Chief Master Sargent James Forman. Shirley was a beloved wife and mother. She was survived by her children, Kathryn (Dennis) Meermans, Ronald (Joan) Kugler, Kevin Kugler, Kim (Skip) Charpentier, and Robert Van Wie. Shirley will be dearly missed by her grandchildren Joshua Kugler, Kandace (Greg) Videtto, Melissa Middlebrook, Meleigha, Marcia, and Meranda Kugler, great-grand son Drake Videtto, and niece Karen (Charlie) Ayotte. Shirley recently returned to this area after retiring to Homosassa, Florida where she enjoyed the friendship of the "Sisters of Walden Woods". Friends and family are invited to a Memorial Mass celebrating her life to be held on Wednesday, May 22nd, 5pm at the Church of the Transfiguration, 50 Hillview Drive, Speigletown, NY 12182 (Formerly St. Bonaventure's).
