Obituary of Joyce Eleanor Pierce
Joyce Eleanor Wakeman Pierce, 90, a happy loving soul, passed away Tuesday April 23, 2013 surrounded by her loved ones.
Born on February 25, 1923 in Jordan, New York, she was preceded in death by her husband, Frank M. Pierce.
Joyce is survived by her children Patricia (Bill) Wiersema of Lindsay, Oklahoma; Lucinda (John) Robertson of Charlton, New York; Midge Pace of Corpus Christi, Texas; Michael (Kellie) Pierce of Hannibal, New York; and many beloved grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews as well as her precious pet "Miss Kitty".
Joyce lived most of her life in Martville, NY where she was a member of Bethel United Methodist Church, and then Martville United Methodist Church.
Joyce was a loving mother and spent many years as a bus driver for the Hannibal Central School District.
As an active member of Bethel UMC, she grew in the Lord and served as a lay leader and made many delicious homemade rolls and pies for church functions.
In 2007 Joyce moved to Saratoga County to live with her daughter Cindy and her son-in-law John in Charlton. Joyce was a gentle person whose smile warmed the hearts of many.
She loved God, her family and life.
No funeral services are planned at this time, however a celebration of her life will be held on June 29 with burial at the Bethel Cemetery in Hannibal, NY.

A brief graveside service for Joyce E. (Wakeman) Pierce (b. 25 Feb 1923, d. 23 Apr 2013) will be held at the Bethel Cemetery, Route 34, Hannibal, NY, on Sat. June 29 at 10:30am immediately followed by remembrances at an open gathering at the home of her son, Mike Pierce just up the road.**
