Obituary of Christine D. MacGregor

Clifton Park, NY Christine MacGregor, 60, passed away after a long illness, at Ellis Hospital in Schenectady on Wednesday, December 5,2012. Christine was born in Troy, NY to the late Teddy and Rita Ryszkiewicz, she lived in Cohoes for 42 years before moving to Clifton Park in 1995. Christine was employed by the State of New York. She held the position as a Supervisor in the computer library of the State Department of Social Services/Dept. of Health. She worked for New York State from 1968 until her retirement in 2002. She was a communicant of St. Ambrose Church in Latham, NY where she had served as a lector. Christine absolutely loved Christmas. She was the epitome of the person who believes it is "better to give than to receive". She truly was a giver in every sense. Her best friend, Frederick "Freddie" MacGregor who died in 1997, predeceased Christine. "They were the best of friends through the worst of times". Christine was mother of: Shawn F. MacGregor of Cohoes, NY and Maria A. MacGregor-Fiffe (Thomas) of Ballston Lake, NY. She is survived by her sister, Patricia "Pat" Langworthy (Al) of Cohoes, NY. Christine was loving "Mema" to: Cody Ashline, Tommy Fiffe, Jr. and Becca Corgan all of Ballston Lake, NY. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews and great nephews and best friends, Donna & Mike Hutchens of Cohoes, NY. Funeral Monday morning at 10 o'clock from the Riverview Funeral Home, Inc., 218 2nd Avenue (corner of 104th Street), Troy, NY 12180 and at 11 o'clock from St. Ambrose Church, 347 New Loudon Road, Latham, NY where the Liturgy of Christian Burial will be celebrated. Relatives and friends are invited to attend and may also call at the Riverview Funeral Home on Sunday from 4 to 8 PM. Interment in St. Agnes Cemetery, Cohoes, NY. The family wishes to thank Dr. Ali Alin and the staff of Ellis Hospital, Floor A-6 for the phenomenal care and compassion shown to Christine and her family during this most recent illness.
