Obituary of Frank Henry Moore
Frank Henry Moore (89) of 52 Elm St, and formerly of 268 Woodlawn Ave, Albany, died peacefully of old age in his daughter and son- in- law's home, on Thursday, November 15. In his last years, he had created a community of caregivers whom he entertained with his humorous stories, his twinkling blue eyes and
his ability to concede with grace and humor to all that he knew was not possible to change.
He was born in Dublin, Ireland and was educated at Trinity College, Dublin. A story-teller, sculptor, lover of books and modern art, drums, canoes, Citroens, TR2s and Harley Davidsons, he practiced surgery in England, Ireland and in West Virginia. In Albany he was a physician in the ER at Albany Med and St Peter's Hospital, as well as at Albany Medical College Family Practice and at the Whitney Young Clinic.
He was happily married to Esther Lewy for almost 50 years. He is survived by his children:
Rene and Anne; grand-daughters Elinor and Hannah Mossop; son-in-law Jonathan; daughter- in- law Nancy, nephews, Karl, Francis, Justin and their families.
In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting that donations be made out to the Alliance for Homebound People, 16 Crimson Oak Ct, Schenectady NY 12309.
A service will be held at 11 am in Oakwood Cemetery Chapel, 186 Oakwood Ave/ Rte. 40 Troy, on Wednesday 11/21/12.
