Obituary of Raymond E. MacDuff
Schroon Lake, NY
Raymond E. MacDuff, 84, formerly of Troy and Lake Luzerne, died on Monday, October 29, 2012.
Born in Troy, NY to the late Edward and Alice Ferguson MacDuff, Ray resided in Troy for many years before moving to Lake Luzerne and later to Schroon Lake.
He worked in construction and was part of the labor force working on Albany's South Mall Project.
He was a veteran of the US Navy and a member of V.F.W. Post 469 in Troy as well as a life member of Post 1498 in Corinth, NY.
Ray was a member of the Schroon Lake Senior Citizens and was Past Grand Knight, Knights of Columbus 3394, in Latham, NY.
Ray loved the outdoors and enjoyed swimming, fishing, boating and hunting and working with wood.
"He enjoyed life to the fullest!"
Ray was predeceased by his first wife Ethel MacDuff in 2007 and his second wife, Josephine in 2010.
He is survived by his children: Harriett Fusco (David), Margaret Soucy (Gary), Michael MacDuff (Helen) and John Patrick MacDuff; siblings: Francis MacDuff (Andrea "PeeWee"), Ruth McMurry and Ann "Coo" MacDuff.
He is also survived by 17 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren.
Besides his wives, Raymond was also predeceased
by four children: Charlotte Sorenson, Bridget Brannigan and Kelly and Sheila MacDuff; siblings:
Earl, Edward (Butch) Wayne MacDuff and Yvonne Altizio.
Funeral Services will be conducted on Saturday morning at 10 o'clock from the Riverview Funeral Home, Inc., 218 2nd Avenue (corner of 104th St. ) Troy, NY 12180.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend and may also call at the funeral home on Friday from 4 to 7 PM. The Knights of Columbus will conduct a prayer service for their departed brother at 6 PM.
Interment in Memory's Garden, Colonie.
