Obituary of James W. Ryan, Jr.

Troy James W. Ryan, Jr., 75 of 5th Avenue, Troy, died on Wednesday morning July 25, 2012 at St. Mary's Hospital. Jim was born in Troy, NY to the late James W. and Edith Hastings Ryan. He was a lifelong city resident. Jim worked for approximately 15 years at the Watervliet Arsenal before his employment with the Veterans Administration Hospital in Albany where he worked in maintenance for over 30 years before his retirement. He was a US Army veteran serving from 1953-1957. He held membership in both the Eagles Lodge and VFW. Jim took great pride and enjoyment in his grandchildren and loved spending time with them. He was a devoted caregiver to his late wife, Dolores E. Ryan until her death in June of 2008. Jim actually passed away on what would have been their 42nd wedding anniversary. Besides his parents Jim was pre-deceased by siblings: Martha E. Monty, Mary R. Maynard, William L. Ryan, Harold F. Ryan and Patrick Ryan. Jim is survived by his daughter, Stacy M. Ryan-Truax of Troy and step-children: Robert Vogt, Karen Dale and Joseph Falasco; siblings: Walter A. Ryan, Leo F. Ryan, John R. Ryan, Joyce Ann Ryan and Barbara Ann Ryan. He is also survived by his 4 grandchildren and 3 step-chrandchildren as well as nieces and nephews to numerous to count. Funeral Services will be conducted on Saturday morning at 11 o'clock, from the Riverview Funeral Home, Inc., 218 2nd Avenue (Corner of 104th Street) Troy, NY 12180, the Rev. Joseph Flynn, officiating. Relatives and friends are invited to attend and may also call at the Riverview Funeral Home on Friday from 4 to 7 pm. Interment in St. Peter's Cemetery, Troy, NY.
