Obituary of Rose Grembocki

Albany Rose Grembocki, 94, of Latham, NY, died on Monday, July 23, 2012. She was born in North Adams, MA to the late Biagio Raona and Mary (Pasquarella) Martello. Rose lived most of her life in Albany, NY and several years in Detroit, Michigan. She also enjoyed many winters in Naples, FL. Rose was an accomplished seamstress having worked in a shirt factory during the war and later as a dressmaker for M. Solomon and Sherry's. She was an avid reader and "collector" of romance novels. She loved to bake and her cakes and pastries were a work of art. She also was a dog breeder and especially loved Bishon Frisee. Rose opened her home to military wives during the Vietnam War as well as several senior citizens over the years. Besides her parents, Rose was predeceased by her husband Francis A. Grembocki, Sr., a son, Francis Grembocki and a grandson, Eric Mealy as well as her sister, Christina Mills and brothers: Louis, Ross and Blaise Raona and son-in-law, Charles Mealy. She is survived by her daughter, Gigi Mealy and her son, Lucian Grembocki (Cindy) of Naples, FL; daughter-in-law, Diane Grembocki; grandchildren: Michele Fatone (Chris), Jill Viscusi, Richard Grembocki (Toniann) and 8 great grandchildren, as well as her sister, Anne Marie Gapp, her brothers: Dominic Raona and Andrew Martello and several nieces and nephews. A Graveside Service will be conducted at Our Lady of Angels Cemetery, Central Avenue (next to Colonie Center) at 1:00 o'clock on Friday afternoon, July 27th. A gathering for family and friends will follow after the service.
