Obituary of Mary A. Stewart

Troy Mary A. Stewart, 74 of Gurley Avenue, died Sunday, June 17th at St. Mary's Hospital after a short illness. Born in Troy to the late Frank and Margaret Ferra, Mary was a life long city resident, educated in Troy Public Schools. She was employed with the Troy Housing Authority and retired in 1999. Mary enjoyed spending time with her family especially her grandchildren and great granddaughter. She is survived by her children: Mark Stewart of Troy, Mary Beth Stewart of Guilderland and future son-in-law Lou Coluccio, pre-deceased by her son: Matthew Stewart (1983). She is also survived by two sister's Peggy Champalello, Angela Fish, pre-deceased by her sister Catherine Thorpe and survived by her brother-in-law, John Thorpe. She was the grandmother of: Danielle Kownack and Alysha A. Stewart and great grandmother of Danyella York. Funeral Services will be conducted on Friday morning at 10 o'clock from the Riverview Funeral Home, Inc., 218 2nd Avenue (corner of 104th Street). Relatives and friends are invited to attend and may also call at the funeral home on Friday morning from 8 to 10 am, prior to the service. Interment will follow at St. Mary;s Cemetery, Troy, NY. The family wishes to thank Linda Gulifuss and the Nursing staff at St. Mary's Hospital and Community Hospice of Rensselaer County for all their caring concern shown to Mary during her illness.
